Flint Water

 

The Flint water crisis began in 2014 and shook our entire community to the bone. It not only revealed how environmental racism and negligence manifests in profound health impacts, it showed the nation the need for reforming environmental policies such as the federal Lead and Copper Rule (LCR). The water crisis is not yet over and we'll be feeling the effects for decades - if not generations - to come. 

 

ETM Flint's work toward Flint's recovery from the water crisis includes:

• connecting residents with trustworthy information and resources to protect their health

• raising unanswered questions

• pushing for government transparency, efficiency, inclusion and accountability for water crisis recovery programs

• shaping changes to policies such as the LCR

• inviting and mobilizing community members to be part of efforts, and encouraging collaboration
